Embroidered Sheers Wrap a Corner Window

Custom Drapery with layered sheers and side panels in an Irvine living room

Two walls of glass meet at a corner in this Irvine living room. Custom Drapery in embroidered sheer, hung on a dark metal rod, softens the daylight and screens the view without closing the room in.

The brief

The living room opens onto glass on two walls, meeting at an outside corner. Daylight arrived unfiltered and the neighbouring houses sat directly in view. The homeowners wanted privacy during the day and a softer quality of light, while keeping the room open and the tile floor bright.

Our solution

We specified Custom Drapery in a white sheer with a tonal embroidered motif, made to measure for each run of glass. Pinch-pleat headings on rings carry the fabric around the corner on a continuous dark metal rod, so the two walls read as one treatment. At the secondary window, patterned side panels in a warm taupe frame the sheer and hold it with matching tiebacks.

The result

Closed, the sheer breaks the sun into a soft wash and blurs the view beyond. The embroidery repeats in horizontal bands, giving the tall panels a quiet rhythm. Drawn back, the fabric stacks neatly at the corner and the glass returns to full view.
