The brief
The living room is built around one long window wall with a low sill line. Bare, the glass pushed hard daylight across the wood floor and left the room feeling unfinished. The owners wanted coverage that reads as architecture, not as a temporary fix.
Our solution
We specified Custom Drapery in a textured blue fabric with a fine diamond weave and a deeper banded hem. Panels are pinch-pleated and hung from rings on a slim black rod mounted close to the ceiling, so the eye reads the full wall height rather than the window opening. Fullness was calculated so each panel stacks evenly and the pleats hold their shape when drawn.
The result
Closed, the fabric filters the afternoon sun into a soft blue wash and keeps the room private from the street side. Drawn back, the panels sit clear of the glass. The black hardware anchors the pale walls and grey plank floor, and the room now has a defined edge to build the rest of the furnishings around.
