Layered Sheers in an Irvine Living Room

Custom drapery panels over sheers on antique brass hardware

A wide living-room window wall dressed in made-to-measure sheers with taupe side panels. Daylight passes through softly, the pleats stack evenly, and the hems break just above pale oak flooring.

The brief

The living room opens onto a full wall of glass, and a second window sits in an adjoining corner. The owners wanted daylight all day without the room feeling exposed, plus the option to close things down in the evening.

Our solution

We made two layers. A wide sheer runs the full width of the window wall, hung in even pinch pleats so the fabric reads as one continuous panel. Taupe drapery panels sit at each end and at the centre break, ready to draw across. Antique brass rods with ball finials carry both layers and echo the warm neutral walls.

  • Made-to-measure pinch-pleat sheers across the full wall
  • Taupe drapery panels for evening privacy
  • Antique brass rod, rings and ball finials
  • Hems measured to break just above the wood floor

The result

By day the sheer softens the light into a warm wash and the greenery outside stays faintly visible. Pleats fall in a steady rhythm from rod to floor. In the corner window the same fabrics repeat at a smaller scale, keeping the two openings visually related.
