The brief
A newly finished Irvine home with wide window walls, white walls and pale carpet. The owners wanted softness and quiet coverage rather than hard treatments, and asked for a consistent look from the living area through to the stair landing.
Our solution
We made custom drapery to measure for each opening. Pinch-pleat panels in a warm linen-look weave hang from ceiling-height matte black rods, with generous fullness so the folds stay even from heading to hem. Panels break just above the floor to keep the line clean on both carpet and wood.
- Made-to-measure pinch-pleat panels, ceiling-mounted for added height
- A matching sheer at the slider by the stairs for daytime privacy
- Matte black rods with center supports on the wider spans
- Wall-to-wall coverage so stacked panels read as one continuous surface
The result
Light arrives soft and even. The sheer at the slider holds a bright, filtered glow while screening the view in, and the lined panels give the bedroom-side wall a calm, enclosed feel when drawn. The neutral palette lets the architecture stay in front.
