Quiet Daylight in an Irvine Bedroom

Designer Roller blackout shades in bedrooms and a children's room

Blackout Designer Roller shades were fitted across bedroom windows of different widths in Irvine. The flat fabric sits close to the wall, holding back daylight while keeping the rooms clean and calm.

The brief

The home has bedrooms with windows of very different proportions: two tall narrow openings flanking a bed, a wide square window in a child's room, and a pair of unequal windows in a corner. The family wanted darkness for sleep and daytime naps, without heavy layers or visual clutter.

Our solution

We specified Designer Roller shades in a blackout fabric, in a soft white that reads as part of the wall. Each shade was measured individually so the flat panel sits square inside its opening. Headrails are cased in matching fascia, so the roll stays hidden and the line across the top stays clean.

  • Blackout roller fabric in a pale, wall-matching tone
  • Individual measurement for narrow, wide and mismatched openings
  • Square-cut fascia to conceal the roll and keep a flat profile

The result

Lowered, the shades hold back the Southern California afternoon and leave only a thin outline of light at the edges. Raised, the windows read as open and uninterrupted. The rooms stay bright and uncluttered by day, and dark enough to sleep through.
