Quiet Focus in Mission Viejo

The brief

A home office in Mission Viejo with two very different windows. One tall window sits beside the desk, close to the neighbouring property. The other runs wide and low across the opposite wall, just above the baseboard. The owners wanted screen glare under control and privacy on both sides, without adding visual weight to a small, bright room.

Our solution

We specified Designer Roller shades in a blackout fabric with a soft linen-like texture, so the shades read as fabric rather than vinyl. Both were inside mounted, with the roller tucked into the head of each opening and the reveal left clean. Matching cassette lines on the tall window and the wide window keep the two openings visually related, even though their proportions are not.

The result

Lowered, the shades close the room off from the neighbours and quiet the light on the monitor. Raised, they disappear into the top of each frame and the white shiplap and oak floor take over. The room reads calm and uncluttered — which is what a working space needs.
