The brief
A primary bedroom with a vaulted, beamed ceiling and two sets of wood French doors opening to the pool terrace. The owners wanted afternoon light controlled without losing the view, and full coverage at night. Any treatment had to sit comfortably beside the existing woven shades on the side windows.
Our solution
We specified custom drapery in a linen-toned textured weave, pinch-pleated and cut to break just at the floor. The rod runs wall to wall in a matte black finish, mounted high and wide so the panels stack clear of the glass when open. Three panels split the run, allowing one door to be used while the rest stays dressed.
The result
Open, the drapery reads as soft vertical columns against white plaster and dark wood trim. Drawn, it covers the entire wall in one even sweep, quieting the room and the light. The warm neutral sits easily with the walnut floors and the stone feature wall behind the bed.
