The brief
The living and dining areas share one long glass wall that runs nearly ceiling to floor. Afternoon light came in flat and bright, washing out the pale tile and grey upholstery. The owners wanted daytime privacy without losing the view or closing the room down.
Our solution
We specified custom drapery in a fine white sheer, fabricated to the exact width of the opening and hung in continuous ripple folds. The track is recessed into the ceiling pocket, so the fabric appears to fall from the plane above with no visible hardware. Panels break just above the tile, keeping the hemline clean along the traffic path between the sofa and the dining table.
The result
Light now arrives diffused and even, with the outline of the garden still readable through the weave. The vertical rhythm of the folds gives the wide wall a quiet order, and the panels stack compactly to one side when the doors are in use.
