The brief
A newly finished home in Santa Clarita with tall glass in nearly every main room. The owners wanted daylight and the view to stay, but the afternoon sun was strong and the rooms felt exposed. Hard shades alone would have closed the spaces down.
Our solution
We measured each opening and fabricated custom drapery in a soft ivory sheer, pinch-pleated and hung at ceiling height to draw the eye up. Slim matte black rods with ball finials run wall to wall, so the hardware reads as a quiet line rather than a frame. In the primary bedroom we layered the sheers with grey side panels for evening privacy and a deeper sense of enclosure.
The result
Light arrives diffused and even across the pale oak floors. The living room keeps its openness, the dining area feels settled at any hour, and the bedroom can be softened further when needed. Panels stack neatly at the edges, leaving the glass largely clear when drawn back.
