Quiet Light in Aliso Viejo

Designer Roller blackout shades in a kids room and throughout the home

Designer Roller shades in a blackout fabric bring calm, even light to a kids room and carry the same clean line through bedrooms, a study and the kitchen wall of windows.

The brief

A recently refinished home in Aliso Viejo with pale oak floors, white walls and windows of many different sizes. The kids room needed real darkness for sleep and focus, without heavy hardware or visual clutter. The rest of the house needed the same language: simple, quiet, consistent.

Our solution

We specified Designer Roller shades in a blackout fabric throughout. Each shade was measured individually, from the wide window wall in the kids room down to the pair of small high openings near the stairs. Neutral fabric and slim cassettes keep the headrails reading as a thin line against the ceiling.

  • Blackout fabric in the kids room and primary bedroom for sleep
  • Matching rollers on the patio door and kitchen windows for glare control
  • Small custom sizes for high and narrow openings
  • Consistent mounting heights so every shade aligns across the room

The result

Lowered, the shades sit flat and quiet, and the rooms stay dim at midday. Raised, they disappear into a slim roll and the windows return to the wall. The whole house now reads as one continuous, uncluttered surface.
